Corvette Guide Mesh.

Work In Progress / 13 May 2022

This is the first part of my project where I am modelling a modern Corvette Stingray, by following a tutorial by CG Masters. The purpose of the guide mesh is to serve as the back bone for the main car parts such as the hood, doors and bumper, where they would be shirked wrapped onto the guide mesh so that the assets mesh remains smooth and clean so that the are no bumps and reflects pass through cleanly.

It is important that I keep topology as clean as possible to ensure that reflections pass along the body appropriatly. To do this I had to focus on the reference images as well as the blueprints in order to see how the shape of the car flows with its minor details. Not only this but the having a good topology will mean that I will be able to work with more edge loops on the main body with out it ruining its shape.

The effectiveness of the guide mesh from a completed version of the hood and front bumper as reflects look clean and the are no lumps or bumps on the body due to it being shrinkwrapped onto the guide mesh.
